Vampyr - Walkthrough - (Prologue)

London, 1918. You are newly-turned Vampyr Dr. Jonathan Reid. As a doctor, you must find a cure to save the city’s flu-ravaged citizens. As a Vampyr, you are cursed to feed on those you vowed to heal.

-You will awaken in a black and white daze. Make your way over to the person on the other side of the docks and bite her by pressing X. As the blood heals you, you will realize that it was in fact your sister that you bit!

-Progress through city as citizens fire at you

-Pull Machete out of dead guy to your right, before the barrels, this will allow you to smash through them

-Don’t bother dodging during these fights, as your dodge mechanic isn’t fully activated until later, and will probably just get you hit

-Enter the door that says, “KEEP OUT”, this will be a fairly universal sign for what is known as your Hideouts, which are safe places placed throughout the city that allow you to craft items, upgrade Johnathan’s abilities, and upgrade weapons (More of upgrading in their respective sections)

-Look at the picture on the table, and then head upstairs to get your first gun and witness another flashback where Johnathan mentions a quote that sums up the difficulty system of the game “Killing is a Hell of a lot easier than Healing”. (More about the difficulty and the Morality system in their respective sections).

-Interact with the bed to get your first (and arguably most important) upgrade, Autophagy, which is a healing skill that heals 200 health for only 10 Blood.

-At this time you can also look into other upgrades, since you should have about 1000 extra experience. The only upgrades that will be available right away will be the 3 “Aggressive” skills, which are “Claws”, “Bloodspear”, and “Shadow Mist”. These are 3 skills that are offensive in nature and all deal with opponents in different ways. Claws is a close-range skill that is good for dealing solid damage very quickly, Bloodspear is a quick, long range attack, and Shadow Mist is a slower attack that is better for dealing with groups of enemies. Pick a skill that compliments how you would like to play the game (don’t worry, you aren’t locked in to this decision, you can acquire all 3 if you wanted to) and hit confirm
